Yes, the oil that we use to cook can be reused as fuel . . . as long as we follow a few simple steps.

When done cooking with the oil:

  • Drain it right from the friolator, not rinsed in water or mixed with soap, dressings, batter or animal sediment (as in; don't contaminate it, and be sure to filter it through the filtration unit).
  • Keeping it separate from soap, water and dressings will reduce the possibility of contamination; filtering out the batter and animal sediment will keep the veggie voyager's filters happy; and draining it properly will make for an easy exchange and encourage return visits from your veggie-voyaging friends!
